Will a concrete overlay crack?
When installed correctly, an overlay is designed to provide a durable, long-lasting surface. Proper surface profiling, a correctly specified bonding layer, and addressing the movement that caused the original cracking are what keep it stable — which is why the slab evaluation up front matters as much as the pour.
How thick is a concrete overlay?
Most overlays range from roughly half an inch to two inches thick. The right thickness depends on how much damage and how much level correction the slab needs, which we determine during the site visit.
How soon can I use the floor?
Within about a week the surface is ready for normal residential or commercial use. If we’re installing a coating on top of the overlay, that adds to the timeline — we’ll give you exact dates once we’ve seen the slab.
Is an overlay cheaper than replacing the concrete?
